7/21/10
I woke up at 6:23 (WOOT!!!! PWNED!!!!) but then I was lazy and got out of bed at 10. Er, I don't think that I am a very fail person. Whatever.
So, today, I was going to make the 3 tierd skirt in the sewing class. I was kind of nervous, because I had overheard some of the adults talking about hand sewing, and I also knew that we had to do gathering. Not the kind of gathering in the skirt before, but pulling on special (longer stitches) to GATHER them. My machine for some reason won't do it, instead it just makes it gathered once being sewn. Gathering consists of sewing long stitches, then PULLING on them. For me (my machine) it'll automatically gather, so I couldn't learn the actual technique for gathering.
I was trying to be positive when it came to the gathering part, but then it turned out that I had sewn a bunch of extra stitches, because my machine WOULDN'T gather. So, I had to go SUPER SLOW on my teacher's machine to do the gathers. Then, I had to spend 30+ minutes for TAKING OUT the other stitches. HATE IT! I had a few cough-my-head-off fits, and that was the day in which I found out the way to stop them. DRINK WATER!! I didn't know that until today. So my fabric for the skirt were these: the top tier is a light blue solid colored one (I soon figured that it was a bit TRANSPARENT!!!), a blue diamond patterned fabric (I said before it had a wave design, yeah, I got confused...) and on the bottom, a white blue star design fabric. I got to know that we (the class) wasn't going to finish the skirt by today, so boohoo. I felt really sad that I wasn't doing very well in the class, because of the stupid (okay, not THAT stupid) sewing machine wouldn't gather. I really didn't do a lot, and when the class was over, my teacher had to take home the skirt and take out the stitches at her home.
Nothing else really, to my day. It was a WEDNESDAY!! No classes in the evening...
